SNEAK PEEK: Grayson

Welcome back, Grayson! There is a story behind the Superman shirt, but I don't really remember the details...maybe mom will remind me and I can share here. Either way...too much cuteness to comment on. I am definitely seeing a collage coming on.

Miss Kansas and Lucinda's

The REAL reason I posted about Miss Kansas earlier was so I could segue into THESE shots. Emily is making an appearance in Old Town Square in October. All her clothes are from LUCINDA'S here in Wichita.  I will certainly post more about this event when I get the details. Like the shots? Make sure you stop by. Emily will be signing autographed prints!

Miss Kansas takes on America!

Since the blog started I haven't posted about Miss Kansas.  Well, this year's Miss Kansas is Emily Deaver and she is SUPER!  You will never see another pageant queen like this in a million years.  Genuine to the core.  Completely adorable inside and out (obviously).  NOT a gussied-up barbie without a brain.  THIS CHICK IS GOING TO WIN MISS AMERICA!  Just watch and see.

AND...if anyone saw the reality show last year about Miss America...you should watch again this year.  Emily is going to be on it!  I am losing my mind.  So excited!  Want more details?  Just ask me.  I will ask her.  And then we will get the answer straight...maybe.

SNEAK PEEK: Carey

The Carey family came to me back when I was a wee lass running Gingeroot from my home.  Emmalyn was a newborn then...and now look at her!  Mom makes her bows.  I like to think of them as a Party On Your Head.  Don't you think she should sell these?  Too much fun

.

Trooper

This is why I love my job. Meeting people like the David family and Miss Rylan makes my day.

In May Rylan became ill and had 3 seizures. She was taken to Wesley hospital and via Childrens Mercy in KC she was diagnosed with Brugada syndrome. It is a rare heart disorder that when she becomes ill it causes the electrical part of her heart to stop. So on 6-30-08 Childrens Mercy implanted a cardiac defibrillator (IDC) in her abdomen. This so that when her heart stops the device will pace her heart and shock it back into rhythm, avoiding sudden death. This device was only the second one in the United States to be implanted. This device is so new that it is not available on the market until late this month. She is doing well and at her last check up she has 9 years remaining on the battery. At that time they hope to move the device to her shoulder.

Heather and Tony

Yay! Pictures just for fun! That is the way to do things, people. Heather was excited and Tony was a good sport. If you need a good laundromat, we found one with a friendly owner and some intense patrons. [VIEW GALLERY](http://gingeroot.nextproof.com/galleries/heather-arreguin)

September Final Fridays Party!

The Grand Opening was our first foray into Wichita's Final Friday gallery crawl. That was so much fun, we think it is time for another party!

This will be a display you have to see to believe. Think art gallery meets party meets candy shop meets outer space.

Stuff to look at. Stuff to hear. Stuff to buy. Stuff to wear. Stuff to eat. Stuff to drink. Too much stuff to mention.

  • Artwork by Hannah Priebe
  • Music by XV and Seven

Friday, September 26th from 6:30 - 10:00pm.

See you there!

Senior - Marina E.

Marina is a senior at Heights High School here in Wichita. If you want to know how I torture my seniors, just ask her. It was hot, she hated bugs and I had tons of fun prodding her to act goofy. Mom surprised her towards the end by bringing in her boyfriend, Andrew, to be a part of the rest of the shoot. [VIEW GALLERY](http://gingeroot.nextproof.com/galleries/marina-elassais)
