HALLOWEEN...KINDA

Things have been so busy around here, I kind of forgot all about Halloween this year.  It is tomorrow???  Thanks to Ginger and her bag-o-costumes we each brought a little Halloween cheer to the studio for a few glorious moments.  Even Ginger's daughter, Avery, joined in...can you see her?  Anywho...Happy Halloween to everyone!

THE LEXICON IS BORN

Some of you more avid readers will have noticed that Gina and I tend to make some outlandishly random remarks during the course of a day.  If we double-over laughing, can't stop crying or simply have no idea what the other was talking about...we blog that comment as "Things Gina Says" or "Things Lindsey Says".  Quite funny if you know us personally.  Hopefully enjoyable for the rest of you!

If you get a kick out of our sentences, perhaps one-word-mayhem is your next drug of choice!  Enter the Gingeroot Lexicon...Often times we will be doubled-over and crying because of something the other has just said and we will realize that a word was slipped in which no human has ever heard before.  It makes perfect sense to us, of course.  But, we realized that if we are going to speak this way, the general public might like to know what we are saying.

In the Gingeroot Lexicon you will find our nonsense words and their definitions as we see them.  Do enjoy.

DONKEYSHINS (don-key-shehns)
From the German word "Danke Schoen" meaning "thank you".

AND THE WINNER IS...MOLLY!

Molly won a one-hour photo session from the Heights High afterprom party!  Congratulations and thanks for coming!  You were so full of happiness and smiles...I couldn't help but be in a good mood myself.

Julie + Jason Reffner

My cousin, Julie, got married to Jason this weekend at the Hesston Arboretum.  She was a beautiful bride even in the cold!  They had a lovely outdoor ceremony complete with heaters and blankets for all the guests.  I believe Julie ended up wearing her fuzzy boots down the isle!  Here are a few of my favorites from different parts of the day.  Enjoy these for now, more to come later...

Step Out

STEP OUT: A Walk to Fight Diabetes

Me and hundreds of others bundled up this weekend and headed to the Zoo.  Not many things will get me out of the house on weekends, but a good ol' charity is one thing that will.  My good friends and clients, the Reusser family, invited me to be a part of this event and photograph what was going on.  One of the Reusser kids, Aiden,  was recently diagnosed with diabetes and so the whole family joined forces and raised money to help fight this terrible disease.  Their team was definitely the largest-with friends and family coming in from other states to show their support!  Aiden raised plenty of awareness for the cause and was given the honor of cutting the starting ribbon.  The teams took thier chilly walk through the Zoo while vendors passed out goodies and helpful infomation on diabetes care.  When it was all over, it wasn't the cold I remembered, but the smiles on everyone's faces and seeing a family come together to support a cause so close to home.
