The Cookseys

If you recognize Austin in this family, you are a BLOGSTALKER!  And I applaud you!  If not, this is Austin's family.  We trekked around the Great Plains Nature Center for a good ol' family picture session.  Dad kept dealing with his "ringing butt", mom kept forgetting her "picture shoes", Sydney was very conscious of anything crawling or flying by, Austin was trying to stay away from poison ivy flying through the air and Morgan (right?  Morgan?) was pretty normal actually!  All those little things made me giggle on the inside and I had a really good time!

HAYDEN

I meet a lot of people.  When it comes to kids, I haven't met one that I don't like.  But, from the bottom of my heart and without offending anyone else...Hayden has stolen a big chunk of my heart.  This chub of heaven is so cute I get chills when I think about him!  Maybe it is because I got to personally experience his giggle and actually touch those rolls.  Whatever it is I will never forget his shoot.  Enjoy a few of the moments...

kelsey

Kelsey just graduated from the University of Kansas (GO HAWKS!) and is ready for job-hunting and networking her way to the top.  Hopefully these images will come in handy when she is trying to stand out in the crowd of boring ol' resumes!  Great to meet you Kelsey and tell that brother of yours to send his work my way!

ROOTS SHALL GO ON

The very first Roots Workshop at Gingeroot Studios has ended!  So sad, but we had a BLAST and it was a great success!  We covered a ton of good stuff and all the gals came armed with plenty of questions and eagerness to learn.  My favorite part was the shooting and the constructive feedback we were given at the end.  The next Roots will be even better!  Stay posted for information on upcoming workshops.  If you want, shoot us an email at frontdesk@gingerootstudios.com and request to be put on the notification list for next time!

Thanks to all who came today.  You were all a complete joy!  I could never have imagined that teaching could be so much fun, but it was!  Good luck trying out all your new tricks and please let us know if you have any follow-up questions.  And remember, if you screw up...learn from it!

GROUP

Things Gina Says...

LINDSEY:  "Thank you Sir, may I have another?"

GINA (whispering):  "Isn't that for spanking?"

Things Gina Says...

"You don't seem quite sugary enough."

Things Gina Says...

"Do people get their ears licked if they are attractive?"

KAYLA

Kayla wanted old Holywood.  I must say, I was pretty excited...but I had no idea she was going to look the part so well!  Her clothes, face and body language was spot on and I just couldnt stop shooting.  My buddy, Gina, pulled out the big guns and helped me even when she didn't have time.  Thanks a bunch, Gina!  It wouldn't have been the same without you!

Brides for a day

We have the pleasure of being neighbors with I Do Bridal & Tux.  Not only is it the best bridal boutique in town, but they let us play dress-up the other day AND borrow dresses for a shoot this afternoon.  Good times all around.  Our lovely studio manager, Cortney, and my sister, Erin, were our two models for the shoot. Below are my mostest favoritest of the day...

The Lindemans

Meet Park.  He is the newest addition to the Lindeman family.  Get used to seeing him, too.  He is going to be a Gingeroot kid!  In case you don't notice (and how could you not!?) he is sporting a pretty sweet mohawk.  It is his 'do of the moment.  I hear that he did have sideburns but those are so yesterday.  The pooches made an appearance as well...Kia and Luca.  Luca did the most darling "tap dance" when he was sitting for a treat!  Kia was just a sweet old soul who really just wanted her B-A-L-L.  Mr. Park gave us his own little poses when he fell asleep in the bean bag.  Without his artistic input where would we be?

memorial day vacation

The Penney's take a family vacation every year (thank you from the bottom of my heart, Tom and Judy!).  We have been to Winter Park, San Francisco, London, and now Sedona.  We did waaaay more than I am posting here, but I have a tendency to put my travel photography on the back burner.  So, here are a few I know I like.  Pardon the blurbs in the collages.  I hoped they would explain things, but I decided they just look dumb and don't really help.  With that in mind...enjoy!

the zwenger kids

I am trying something new to cut down on storage space usage and time...collages on the blog!

You aren't seeing double, we have more twins!  Gavin and Tristan are the twin boys and Maizie is the big sister.  Bright colors and some fun toys were all it took to get the group in sync.  We had some issues with drippy noses, but nothing a swift mommy couldn't handle!  Maizie was a great little helper with her crazy scream that made the boys look at the camera every time!

The michealis family

Families are too much fun.  The Michealis family got rained out one time and then when we got them back in, Wichita decided to heat up to 9,000 degrees.  As usual, I took everyone to some weird places and got some strange looks, but I knew the kiddos would look great!  Enjoy these for the time-being, folks!  More to come soon...

Brody and Jonah

Remember these twins?  How could you forget?  Brody and Jonah have been coming to Gingeroot since the Belly!  Growing up and showing much-needed signs of their own looks and personalities.  My main identifier...the hair!  Katie, slap me if I am wrong but, Brody has the party mohawk and Jonah is all business with the smooth 'do.  Right?X1

The Oetken Family

Blogging is baaack!  I know I have been absent, but I am refreshed and blogtastic.

Meet the Oetken family!  All-American goodness here, folks.  Gina seems to think that Angela and I look alike...and I took that as a huge complement.  I owe these guys an ice cream or something for the hours of sweaty torture they endured with me!  I think the 98 degree weather, the clothing changes, and the towing around of the Apache were well worth it in the end.  We got some great shots of little Addison and her many faces and the little family and all their hugs.
